For my documentary I want honest opinions. I didn't want to create a feel where it looks over-scripted. Therefore, I visited a Year 10 drama group and asked them take part in my documentary. I had previously sent out consent letters to ensure that they were able to participate, but those who didn't want to, didn't have too. I interviewed four students. I set out a few questions which they could answer, but I wanted their opinions. I asked them questions like "Why do you think people cyber bully?" and "Would you join a cyber bullying campaign?". I was able to get sensible answers. I also got cut-aways of the classroom which I can use to fill time. I asked Year 10's as I believe that they have gone through the hard part of the high school social ladder and they are nearly at the top. I wanted to see if any of them had had any experiences which I could use, but most of them hadn't been bullied online.
I also want to interview one of the technicians at school who keeps an eye on the computer systems within Smithdon. I was told there is a piece of software which searches the system to find if any bullying is going on. When students first got their e-mail accounts, they would send each other messages, occasionally using language which was inappropriate. However, they were able to block the messages with rude language in. But the technological kids of today worked out that by using TXT code, they could say things such as FU and sh*t. But now the school has managed to block any mail with these kinds of messages. I want to talk to the technician about his job and the software. I want to know whether he thinks that the software should become more available in schools nationwide?
